1.Risa Ruse: Want to know more about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)? Contact me for a free inspired poetry consult. As an experienced Social Worker skilled in Veterans PTSD, victim turned victor twice of PTSD (once as a child losing my mother to suicide and then as a mother) I share the healing of negative emotions (one or two at a time in rhyme) that make it a safe place to heal. We stay in the “present while not reliving any trauma. What comes next is the connection to our Higher Power (Jesus is mine) that transforms sorrow into strength to help self and others regain peace and joy. I use this process through giving Workshops on PTSD Healing in Inspired Poetry. My published books and 115 articles mostly in rhyme on PTSD are at: http://RisaRuse.com. My Art Props, books (two are in rhyme for children to connect in easy to understand Christian based Scripture in rhyme and morality through fun costumes and art) on-line Sculpture Art Gallery information is found at: http://RisaRuseArtist.com
My latest book entitled, "PTSD Healing Poetry Restores Joy And Prosperity" http://www.CreateSpace.com/3479936 is my own anthology of the healing process in rhyme that was inspired from the Divine, (Jesus is mine!) My other two books aim to help children grow up to be loving, kind people through my artwork/costumes my children wear in my ABC book that teaches simple, fun Christian Spirituality entitled, "Children Nurtured by God's ABC's" http://www.CreateSpace.com/3480587 . Lastly, nurturing mother of twins book, entitled, "Breastfeeding Twins And Nurture Self To Prevent Insanity" http://CreateSpace.com/3480064.

2.Also coincidentally, Sunday marks the reopening of Bowery Poetry 2.0. Drop by the Club at 6 for Peter Cherches' Book Party, stay to hang and chill.Bob Holman, a bearded, linen-suited veteran of St. Mark’s Poetry Project and the Nuyorican, founded the Bowery Poetry Club in 2002 as a haven for verse in all its forms—not just the shrill nursery rhymes and political rants associated with its noisier, smokier forebears. The stage and DJ booth loom impressively over the café’s sleek tables and exposed-brick walls, focusing all eyes and ears on performers who, in a single night, can range from improv-Dada-cabaret group the Typing Explosion to Bowery flophouse poet Bingo Gazingo. Big shows and regular gigs draw the steadiest audiences, but the chilled-out, wireless-accessible coffee shop opens at noon Tuesday through Sunday and at 6pm on Mondays. “We’re trying to make it a place where you can hang out,” Holman says, “and let inspiration take its time.” 308 Bowery New York City (Between Houston and Bleecker) F train to 2nd Ave, 6 to Bleecker mail@bowerypoetry.com 212-614-0505
3. New York Figure Study Guild Featured Artist Steve Carpenter: Tuesday, March 19, 6:00 PM Steve will discuss his abstract painting technique. For Steve Carpenter, a painting begins with the construction of the support. He will discuss in some detail, with the aid of video, the building of the support for a new work. Much work goes into the preparation of the surface which is a key component of the painting process and provides inspiration and direction. Following a description of surface prep, Steve will discuss some of the many artistic decisions which must be made as he continues with a painting.
