happy march!

Hi folks: we're already over two months into 2012 now. Can you believe it?  It still feels like December 2011 to me! Here's whats up:

1.POETRY IN MOTION - "Turning Point"Saturday, March 10, 2012 9:00pm until 12:00am
Beyond Baroque Literary/ Arts Center 681 Venice Blvd., Venice, CA 9029
Public Event · By Eve Brandstein, Jim Bolt and  others.

Lots of other stuff going on but I'm not sure if this is getting to everybody here. So far I've gotten feedback from 5 people who read it every week and one who wants me to clean up the formatting. That's six out of some 500
who supposedly view this blog every week. What do the rest of you think? Please email me with your comments or post them to this blog! Let me know if I should keep the thing going!

A short poem
by "laughing" Larry Berger

The eagle soars
The mountains rumble
The sea becomes angry and calm
The rhythm of life is response to change.

Is it time to end or not?

 Motorcyles
by Laughing Larry B

The mark of the open road changes depending on
who you chose to join but the colors are unmistakable.

a leather and a harley have built more legends
than Disney and Doc Seuss combined.

but Fonzie moved to the Hamptons with his son the doctor
and the Sons of Anarchy have moved on too.

still the steel horse bings fantasy's to mind.

Yiddish Penicillin

By “Laughing” Larry Berger

Chicken soup is simple to make
just throw the chicken in a pot
with onions, celery and carrots
add spices and boil till the meat falls of the bone

Medical science and years of practice have proven
that chicken soup will actually cure 99.9% of cold and flu
viruses out there.

 Problems like cancer
the national debt
over population
diminishing resources
and not enough fresh water in the world
are beyond the scope of what
Chicken Soup will cure

I guess not everything is supposed to be easy .
Enjoy !

See you next week!

Here's the new poem for this week:

 I Have a Dream

By Laughing "Larry" Berger

This morning I woke up

in an awful state of depression.

I had no hope

no joy

and I was totally useless.

Then I talked to a friend who had just gone to see their friend who is in a coma.

They told me their friend can"t even open their eyes and it was sad to watch them just lay

there with tubes hanging out of them.

I got even worse myself for feeling depressed despite my obvious lack of this ailment.

I have the use of my hands and feet, fingers and toes, eyes and ears and to some extent my

nose.  I have 30 years of sales and marketing training which I can put to use . Some folks

even say I'm a damn good poet.  So what have I got to be depressed about?

Today celebrates the birthday of a world class leader. One of the few we've had in the last 60

years or so who actually did everything he said he would do and inspired millions to

carry on his vision .  I went back to sleep and dreamed that everything would be okay. So

far at least that dream came true.

Thanks for letting me write this this week. It may not be my best poem but It's one

I needed to write.  Here are the book links.
