I know we are all busy and that there are lots of events, but don't miss Bill Lavender at the Flying Squirrel this Sunday(8/27/11) at 5 pm! I won't be hosting many more of these poetry events--only one more on Sat., Sept 24th ( 100 Thousand Poets for Change-a global live streaming event). There are 9 days left before the deadline of the 2011 Orphic Prize
Poetry Book Prize.

The postmark deadline for entries to the 2011 Orphic Prize for Poetry is Deadline is August 31, 201l1. To enter, submit 48-80 paginated pages of poetry, table of contents, acknowledgments, bio, email address for results (No SASE; manuscripts will be recycled), and a $25.00 non-refundable fee for each manuscript entered. The winner is awarded $1000 and publication, plus 20 author copies. All entries will be considered for publication. All styles are welcome.

The Orphic Prize for Poetry entries may be sent, following the guidelines above, to:

Well that's What came across my desk this week!

I'm still seeing articles about the Page VS. Stage types of poetry
so here's a little poem about that:\

The great debate

The story still rages on
divide and conquer rules the day!

Poets have a hard enough time
getting respect as it is ! Let alone if we divide ourselves!

"Reverend" Otis of the Watts Prophets gave me the answer
" Page poets write on paper .
 Performance poets write on the hearts of their listeners!" 
 What more needs to be said on the subject ?
Can we please move on now?
