Man plans and God Laughs
By "Laughing" Larry B
Things must happen for a reason
I'm an oil and gas "Greensman* turned poet
who would have thunk it possible?
Years have past
I begin to enjoy driving again
only to have my 6th major car accident
where the other car turns in and hits me
The car was totaled
but some how my passenger and I walk out unscathed.
And to top it off the insurance company pays us more for totaling the car
then when we'd first bought the thing eight years ago!
Blessings come in all shapes and sizes.
There is an old saying " They whom the Gods would destroy they first make mad."
I'm not angry just confused.
and well okay, I'll admit it !
I may be just a little bit crazy
but I'm still here! And I'm Still writing!
Maybe God does know best after all.
Neat Huh?

oops ! sorry I forgot to tell you .
every industry has its jargon and small company oil & gas exploration ( less that say Exon but more than Jed Clampet ) is no different. For instance , the engineers who have the least experience on the drilling site at called "worms" . an "oricale" is a more experienced engineer who has brought in at least 10 wells successfully and a "green'smen" is the term for the folks who raise the money to go drill the holes in the ground and look for oil and natural gas as in " you can't make the scene if you haven't got the Green"
See you next time.

MEMORIES (a dream memory)
The cobbled stones underfoot
strain to the weight
burning above by day…
crystal cold to the touch by night…
In the cavern of her heart she sighs and weeps,
smiles and sings as a vision appears...swirling in space…
a stage, a floating stage…a multitude waiting,
watching, listening...a woman whispers…
I dance...I am dancing this is what I see
I am on a stage...I am backstage
I see…I am seen flowing around about
the purest finality of an aesthetic miracle,
I float back...back stage...to life…
lovely, sordid, tormented, thrilling,
treacherous; dreamy, melting beauty,
crashing heartsblood, roaring…rushing...life…
a woman whispers; another vision comes:
...I am backstage…an aesthetic airy purification
come to me, someone is stretching his arms leading me,
for I cannot see… I cannot see...
Remember, remember…dreaming...
